Walmart Pro Seller Badge: Requirements and How It's Evaluated

The Pro Seller Badge is awarded automatically to sellers who clear six performance thresholds at once — on-time delivery ≥95%, cancellation rate ≤1.5%, seller responsiveness ≥95%, shipping speed score ≥50%, content quality score ≥75%, and price competitiveness score ≥75% — while also having more than 100 orders in the past 90 days, at least 90 days of active selling history, and full compliance with Marketplace policies. There's no application: Walmart evaluates seller metrics on its own schedule and grants or removes the badge based on whether all thresholds are currently met.

The six metrics you need to clear at once

Pro Seller eligibility isn't a single score — it's six separate thresholds that all need to be met simultaneously: on-time delivery rate of 95% or higher, cancellation rate of 1.5% or lower, seller responsiveness rate of 95% or higher, a shipping speed score of at least 50%, a content quality score of at least 75%, and a price competitiveness score of at least 75%.

This is why a seller can feel like they're doing well overall and still miss Pro status — a single weak metric (often content quality or price competitiveness, since those are less top-of-mind than shipping speed) is enough to keep you out, even if every other number looks strong.

The activity requirements behind the metrics

Beyond the six performance metrics, Walmart requires more than 100 orders in the past 90 days and at least 90 days of active selling history. A brand-new seller with excellent early metrics still won't qualify until they clear both the volume and tenure bars.

Full compliance with Marketplace policies is also a stated requirement — an open policy violation can keep an otherwise metrics-qualified seller out of Pro status.

There's no application — it's automatic

Walmart doesn't have a form to fill out for Pro Seller status. Eligibility is evaluated against your actual account metrics, and the badge is granted or removed based on whether you currently meet all thresholds — not based on a one-time application you submit and wait on.

This cuts both ways: you can lose Pro status without doing anything dramatically wrong, simply by having one metric drift below threshold during a slow patch (a stretch of late shipments, a run of cancellations from a stockout). Treat it as a status you maintain continuously, not one you earn once.

What the badge actually gets you

Pro Sellers get a visible badge on listings, Search Engine Marketing credits, access to Flash Deals, quarterly rotating rewards, invitations to Master Series webinars, a 10% referral-fee discount specifically on Pro Listings that meet eligibility criteria, Attractive Walmart Capital financing terms, Post-Purchase Reviews credit, discounts on Ship with Walmart shipping labels, and faster payouts.

The referral-fee discount is scoped to Pro Listings meeting eligibility criteria, not a blanket discount across your whole catalog — worth checking which of your specific listings actually qualify rather than assuming it applies everywhere.

Walmart's own program terms state it reserves the right to include or exclude sellers from the program at any time and may recalculate benefits at its discretion — treat the badge as a status Walmart actively manages, not a fixed contractual guarantee.

Examples

  • A seller with strong shipping and cancellation metrics loses Pro eligibility because their content quality score sits at 68% — below the 75% threshold — after several rushed catalog uploads with incomplete descriptions.
  • A seller crosses 100 orders and 90 days of active selling in the same month their on-time delivery rate finally clears 95%, and gains Pro status on the next evaluation.
  • A seller assumes their whole catalog gets the 10% referral-fee discount, then discovers it only applies to the specific listings flagged as Pro Listings meeting eligibility criteria.

Common Mistakes

  • Focusing only on shipping-related metrics while letting content quality or price competitiveness scores quietly drift below threshold.
  • Assuming Pro status is permanent once earned, rather than something re-evaluated on Walmart's own schedule.
  • Expecting the 10% referral discount to apply catalog-wide instead of only to qualifying Pro Listings.
  • Not checking for an open policy violation that can block Pro status even when all six metrics look fine.

FAQ

How do I apply for the Walmart Pro Seller Badge?

There's no application. Walmart evaluates your account against the eligibility criteria automatically and grants or removes the badge based on whether you currently meet all thresholds.

What are the exact Pro Seller metric thresholds?

On-time delivery rate ≥95%, cancellation rate ≤1.5%, seller responsiveness rate ≥95%, shipping speed score ≥50%, content quality score ≥75%, and price competitiveness score ≥75% — all six must be met at the same time, alongside more than 100 orders in the past 90 days and at least 90 days of active selling history.

Can I lose Pro Seller status after getting it?

Yes. Status is tied to your current metrics, not a one-time achievement, and Walmart's program terms explicitly reserve the right to include or exclude sellers at any time.

Does the Pro Seller referral fee discount apply to my whole catalog?

No — the 10% referral-fee discount applies specifically to Pro Listings that meet eligibility criteria, not automatically across every listing in your store.
